Greater Sydney
Region, Traction Supply Upgrade Project
ENOTRAC was
commissioned by
RailCorp to oversee the FABEL modelling of the RailCorp rail
system in the context of the Traction Supply Upgrade Project. RailCorp owns and
maintains a rail network comprising 8'700 km of track and transporting over 1 million
passengers/day. The scope of work includes the following areas:
Central Business District, Main North Line, Flemington-Lidcombe, Granville/Emu
Plains, Canterbury, and South Coast. ENOTRAC carried
out FABEL simulations of the high voltage AC and DC traction systems to
calculate 33/66 kV loads, DC substation loadings, DC circuit breaker currents
and minimum train voltage for future timetables. Various scenarios of
timetables were considered, along with different power supply configurations
and reinforcement options. The upgrade covers substation, overhead
wiring, and cable reinforcements.
