Major Power Works 3rd Party Scope Review, DC and AC systems

ENOTRAC was commissioned by LUL to undertake an independent review of the scope of works proposed by the PFI (private finance initiative) contractor for power supply upgrades of the DC traction and AC sub-transmission system (11 kV and 22 kV) system. The upgrades are necessary to provide capacity for new rolling stock and improved timetables.

ENOTRAC conducted a detailed review of the simulation work carried out and scrutinised the proposed scope of work with regard to validity and value for money.

The Major Power Works cover substation and cable reinforcement. It is expected to cover upgrades up to 2020 and will have a capital investment requirement of around £300m.
