During the proof of electromagnetic compatibility of the new CAF-Bombardier trains with the signalling systems of the Roma-Lido line, we found unusually high interference currents in the rails. Initially, the cause was a mystery. There was even a suspicion that some entrepreneurial local residents were helping themselves to power off the Metro installations. Even if this was probably not the cause of the interference currents, theft of electricity and copper cables has become a serious problem for Rome Metro.

Refurbishment of the single decker commuter trains of SBB

The consortium formed by ENOTRAC, PROSE and HELBLING is in charge of the engineering for the refurbishment of the single decker commuter trains of SBB. The wishes expressed by the customer (SBB) and by the engine drivers for the layout of the driver's cab can inspire solutions similar to an aircraft cockpit.

Opening of the Loetschberg Base Tunnel

Full scheduled service through the Lötschberg Base Tunnel started on the 9th December 2007. Under contract with BLS AG, and in collaboration with all parties involved, we have compiled the overall Safety Case. Occasionally, we may have been too critical in our role of “devil's advocate”. In the final phase, the strike of engine drivers in Germany caused extra stress. Planned tests could not take place as the freight trains from Germany failed to arrive.
